We proudly offer internships throughout the year, giving aspiring professionals the opportunity to work alongside experienced counselors and social workers. As an OMNI intern, you’ll gain valuable skills, build professional connections, and contribute to programs that support individuals and families in need.
To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program in counseling, social work, or related field and have a strong commitment to making a positive impact in the community. If you’re ready to take the next step in your career while creating meaningful change, we encourage you to apply!

How many interns are accepted each semester?
To ensure high-quality supervision and individualized support, OMNI accepts up to 10 interns per semester. This intentionally small cohort allows interns to receive focused mentorship and hands-on learning.
What qualities make an internship applicant stand out?
Successful interns are engaged, open to learning, and deeply compassionate. We look for students who demonstrate curiosity, professionalism, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact in the lives of others.

What type of supervision will I receive?
Interns receive regular individual and group supervision from experienced, licensed clinicians. Supervision is trauma-informed, supportive, and designed to help interns build confidence, clinical judgment, and ethical practice.
Will this internship meet my school or licensure requirements?
Yes. Our internship program is designed to meet the field placement and practicum requirements of accredited counseling and social work programs. We collaborate closely with universities to ensure all expectations are met.
When should I apply?
Applications are typically accepted on a rolling basis, with priority given to early applicants. We recommend applying several months before your required start date.

Is this internship in-person, hybrid, or virtual?
Internship opportunities may include in-person and hybrid options, depending on program needs, client care, and intern availability. Details are discussed during the interview process.

What is the typical internship schedule?
Schedules are created collaboratively and may include daytime, evening, or limited weekend hours, depending on program needs and academic requirements.
Is this a paid or unpaid internship?
OMNI Internships are paid. Specific details are shared during the application and interview process.
How many hours per week do interns spend at OMNI?
Interns typically commit 20–25 hours per week, allowing for meaningful clinical experience while balancing academic responsibilities.
How many hours per week are dedicated to direct client services?
Interns generally provide 10–15 hours per week of direct service, including individual, group, and family work, under close supervision. This structure supports strong clinical skill development in a trauma-informed setting.

Do interns receive job offers after completing their internship?
While not all interns are guaranteed a position, many of our interns have transitioned into full-time counseling and social work roles at OMNI after graduation. We prioritize hiring clinicians who align with our mission and demonstrate strong clinical and professional growth during their internship.
What is required to apply for an internship?
Applicants must submit:
A completed internship application
Two letters of recommendation, with at least one from a professor or professional supervisor
These materials help us identify candidates who are ready for a clinical mental health internship in a community-based setting.
What populations do interns work with?
Interns work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, including individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, family conflict, and life transitions. Many interns also gain experience serving diverse and Spanish-speaking populations.
What kind of training and professional development is offered?
Interns participate in clinical trainings, case consultations, and professional development opportunities throughout the semester, helping them grow as confident, ethical clinicians.
